Composer's Notes:
As the title implies, there is a bit of humor involved in this composition, including a bassoonist who refuses to follow the conductor, a cellist who has a coughing fit, and a conductor who is no longer in control. All of these situations should be made obvious to the audience, so the conductor has to be willing to play along, of course. The instrumentation includes: flute (doubles piccolo), 2 oboes, clarinet in A (doubles in E-flat), bassoon, 2 horns, trumpet in C and strings.
