Composer's Notes:
This is the form of the Missa Brevis that grew out of Lutheran worship, consisting of Kyrie and Gloria only. It was a commission from Magnum Chorum and the Northfield Youth Choirs, who premiered the work together at an All Saints Sunday worship service at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minnesota in 1998. Magnum Chorum also performed the work several times, covering the treble choir parts with two soloists from their choir.
