Composer's Notes:
Most frequently performed of all my chamber pieces, Forecasts has been programmed in the U.S. and Europe, including a performance at the World Saxophone Congress in Spain in 1997. The movement titles are : I. Flurries, II. Leit and Variable Winds, III. Dense Fog, IV. Acid Rain. The final segment presumes the unfortunate scenario of a futuristic forecast consisting of several distorted fragments of popular songs about rain. Hopefully, these are disguised enough to avoid copyright hassles while not upsetting the pH balance of the listener. A recording, "The Sax Ascendant", is available from the American Composers Forum.
